How many US residential IPs are in the pool?
Approximately 3 million unique US-located residential IPs at any given time, distributed across all major consumer ISPs and every state. Exact pool size fluctuates as upstream devices come online and offline — what matters at the request level is session diversity, which is effectively unbounded for normal scraping volume.
Can I target specific US states or cities?
Yes. Add -state-CA or -city-newyork to your username to lock the session to that geography. City coverage is best in the top 50 metros; smaller markets fall back to state-level targeting.
Are US proxies fast enough for production scraping?
Median round-trip latency on our US residential pool is around 240ms — slower than datacenter but on par with other Tier 1 residential providers, and well below the point where most scrapers see throughput degradation.
Do these work for US e-commerce and search engine scraping?

Is using United States proxies legal?
Using proxies in the United States is legal for commercial workloads such as price intelligence, ad verification, brand protection and SEO monitoring. ProxyGen requires every customer to honour the target site's robots.txt, terms of service and rate-limit signalling. Bypassing technical access controls (CAPTCHAs, IP blocks following a documented ban) on a site you are not authorised to access can fall under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act; check with counsel before scaling sensitive workloads.
