What we do not sell. Oxylabs bundles a dedicated account manager into their listed plans and sells contractual SLAs and enterprise procurement support. We are self-serve and do not offer those. If a signed uptime guarantee is a hard requirement in your organisation, that is what you are buying there.
What the same bandwidth actually costs
Oxylabs publishes four self-serve tiers. Below is what the same bandwidth costs here, in whole dollars, at each of them. Where their tier size does not match one of our packages exactly we have combined packages to meet or exceed it.

Their column is one month of the named plan. Ours is a one-off purchase that does not expire, so on a second month the comparison widens further if you have bandwidth left over.
A team running 125 GB a month, over a year
Take their Advanced plan, $500 a month for 125 GB, and assume you use most of it. That is 1,500 GB across twelve months.
This is the case where a subscription hurts most: a mid-sized, steady workload paying a tier price that only makes sense at the top of the range. Buying the volume outright collapses the difference, and any month you run quiet does not cost you an allowance.
What the numbers above actually mean
Subscription versus purchase
This matters more than the per-gigabyte number. On a subscription you rent an allowance and the meter resets whether you used it or not. With us you buy an asset that sits in your account. For workloads that spike and go quiet, that difference compounds faster than any volume discount.
The pay-as-you-go tier is priced to push you onto a plan
Their flexible option starts at $6/GB, more than twice their own volume rate. That is a common pattern and it works: the flexible price is uncomfortable enough that committing feels rational. We publish one curve, and the only thing that moves it is how much you buy.
The sizing problem disappears
A plan sized for your peak is idle capacity eleven months a year. A plan sized for your average leaves you buying top-ups exactly when you are busiest. Non-expiring bandwidth removes the decision entirely: buy when it is convenient, use it when you need it.
What switching involves
Oxylabs expresses targeting through username fields, and so do we, which makes this one of the more mechanical migrations on our site.
- 1Create a package and take the host, port, username and password from the dashboard. Standard HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5 are supported, so the client edit is a connection string.
- 2Country, session id and session duration move from their username fields to ours. The field names differ; the concepts do not.
- 3Set your sticky session duration explicitly rather than relying on a default, since the two services do not use the same one.
- 4Run the same job on both for a day before you cancel anything. Because our bandwidth does not expire, keeping a small package around as a fallback costs nothing.
Questions people ask
Does ProxyGen require a monthly commitment?
No. There is no subscription, no minimum monthly spend and no plan to cancel. You buy bandwidth and it stays in your account until used.
What happens to my unused gigabytes?
Nothing. They do not expire and they do not reset at the end of a month. That is a product decision, not a promotion.
How much do I have to spend to reach your best rate?
$1.19/GB is our published rate at a terabyte, bought once, with no monthly commitment behind it. Reaching the equivalent Oxylabs rate means committing to $2,500 every month.
Does ProxyGen offer an SLA?
We publish live status and network statistics, but we do not sell contractual SLAs. If a signed uptime guarantee is a hard requirement, that is a genuine reason to stay where you are.
Is the pool as large?
We do not publish a pool size count, because the number is unverifiable from the outside and every provider's figure is generous. What we publish instead is live per-country success rate and latency, which is the thing that actually affects your job.
Can I move gradually?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. Buy a small package, move one job, watch it for a week. Nothing on our side expires while you take your time.
Test it without cancelling anything
You do not have to end a subscription to try this. Take 200 MB free or buy the smallest package, run one real job alongside your current setup, and decide from your own numbers rather than ours.
